Man Cuts Off wife’s Hand

Jacob Nwachukwu, a native of Abala in Obingwa Local Government Area, Abia State has reportedly cut off his wife’s left hand over alleged adultery.

The victim is presently under treatment at a local hospital in Aba and her severed hand is taken to her husband’s village for burial.

Mrs. Nwachukwu’s co-tenant said the couple had lived together for years until he lost his job forcing him to move back to the village, leaving his wife who is a trader in the city.

“The couple had always quarreled any time the man visited his wife in the city, to the extent that all the tenants are aware and intervened in their quarrels.” she said

He was said to have visited her on that fateful day and as usual, they began quarreling.

In the course of the quarrel, he brought out a cutlass, cut off her left hand, and left with it to their village.

Neighbors who heard them quarreling rushed out when they saw him leaving and rushed her to the hospital.

Sources alleged that Mr. Nwachukwu’s intention was to kill his wife but he missed the target as she used her hand to defend herself before it (hand) was severed.

The landlord reported the incident to the police station while the said lover is on the run for his life.

The Area Commander, Aba Police Command, Mr. Peter Wabara, While responding to a text message
said the incident has not gotten to his desk yet.

Meanwhile, a police officer at Ogbor Hill Police Station has confirmed the incident, saying an investigation into the matter had commenced.
