A Plateau man identified as Jacob Joel, has been remanded in the Jos Correctional Centre for reportedly defiling an 11-year-old girl.
According to a police statement, the victim is a friend to the defendant’s daughter.
The 42-year-old is said to have perpetrated the dastard act when the victim visited his daughter.

The prosecutor, Mrs L. P. Fombot told the court that the victim did not meet her friend when she visited.
The defendant, who was home alone when the victim visited, dragged her into his room and scared her with a knife before having carnal knowledge.

Fombot is said to have raped the minor on several occasions after, threat Joel threatened the girl on several occasions, raping her repeatedly.
He was eventually caught by a school teacher after he took the minor to the bush for another round of defilement.
Though the defendant pleaded “not guilty” to the crime, he blamed the devil during a police interrogation.
Justice S. P. Gang ordered for the suspect to be remanded in prison till December 7.
Joel risks a life imprisonment sentence if found guilty.
