  • The police force in Ogun state have confirmed the demise of a man, few days after arriving in Nigeria.

  • Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the man was found dead in hotel room four days after arriving Nigeria.

Men of the Ogun state police command have confirmed the death of a man, Sunday Abidoye.

According to reports, the deceased, who was found lifeless in his hotel room on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Creestar Hotel in Sagamu was said to have arrived Nigeria just few days ago.

Confirming the incident, the Police PRO, SP Omolola Odutola, in a statement released in Abeokuta said the case was reported to the police by the chief security officer, Oluwole.

The PPRO said;

On receiving the report, a team of detectives visited the scene and on arrival found the body of the deceased already placed inside a car outside the hotel,” 

At that point it was being prepared to be taken to the morgue by his family.” 

She added that the deceased’s brother had called him, and when he didn’t get a response, he went to the hotel he lodged.

 

He also said, after knocking the door severally, he requested a spare key from the hotel manager to enter the room, where they discovered his brother’s lifeless body.

“Various drugs and traditional medicine were recovered from the room.

“Also, a friend of the deceased, Ogunmonti Ogunwole, confirmed that he accompanied the deceased to purchase nine different types of medication the previous day due to his complaints of illness,” Odutola added

The police spokesperson added that the cause of the death is still unknown, but the case has been transferred to the state CID for further investigations.
