A middle-aged man identified simply as TJ has been arrested by the Edo State Police Command for allegedly killing his wife, Queen, in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, September 30, shortly after the couple had celebrated the birthday of their two-year-old son.

Report has it that there were no signs of conflict between the couple prior to the incident.
A resident who spoke to newsmen about the incident stated that they all went to bed that night after the birthday celebration but in the morning, when no one saw them come out, they all assumed they were still sleeping.
The situation took a grim turn when their young son emerged from the room with bloodstains on his body. Neighbours, alarmed by the sight and noticing the child was uninjured, rushed into the apartment, where they discovered the lifeless body of Queen in a pool of blood, with her throat slit. She was believed to have been killed with an axe.
The suspect was said to have fled the scene immediately after the act. The matter was promptly reported to the Auchi Police Division, which launched a manhunt for him.
Confirming the arrest on Sunday, October 5, in Benin City, the spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command, CSP Moses Yamu, said the suspect has been apprehended and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
He added that the command is committed to ensuring that justice is served.
