A High Court has passed an heavy sentence on two people for the murder and attempted murder of two young boys.
An High Court sitting at Asaba, which is presided by Justice Onome Marshal-Umukoro sentenced a .man, identified as Onuwa Ijie to death, and his accomplice, Nwanozie to 14 years imprisonment for the murder of twin boys, Chidalu and Chigozie Agwunobi.

Reports showed that the accused lured the victims to a bush, where he proceeded to dismember them by cutting off their penis, eyes, tongues and hands which they hurriedly took to a native doctor at Aguleri in Anambra State. This happened at Oko-Ogbele community on March 5, 2020.
The court held that the testimony of the five witnesses proved the case against the two defendants beyond reasonable doubt.
“One of the defendants had earlier gone to the school of the twin children to take them but was turned down by the school teacher, one Mrs Emelda Ezekwude,” she said.

While delivering his judgement, Justice Onome noted that the first evidence was a confession of one of the defendants, who advised the other to involve in money ritual, a d even gave him the phone number of one Chukwudi Edemuzor who was alleged to be searching for twins to kill for money.
