Man, Severely Burnt While Trying To Steal Transformer Cables In Niger

A man has been rendered severally injured following his attempt to vandalize a transformer plant.

The man, Identified as Tasiu Danlami, a 22-year-old was said to have attempted to vandalize AEDC transformer cables in Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, in a statement released on Monday, October 14 said Tasiu, alongside his accomplice, one Abba Salisu had attempted tye vandalisation before hia injury.

 

The statement reads;

On 10/10/2024 at about 0545hrs, Police operatives of Tafa Div with vigilante members, while on routine patrol within Hayin-Nasarawa area along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway via Tafa, arrested two suspects identified as; Tasiu Danlami 22yrs and Abba Salisu 18yrs of the same area,”

“The two suspects attempted to vandalize AEDC transformer cables within the community, which led to severe burn injury of Tasiu. 

 

“He was taken to Musa Yar’Adua Hospital Sabon-Wuse for treatment, while Abba was taken into custody with an industrial cutting plier. 

“Suspects are under further investigation in Tafa Division.”
