Man Survives Electrocution By Over 250 Volts After Trying To Steal Armoured Cable

A man identified as Upeghom has escaped death by the whiskers after surviving an electrocution by over 250 volts of electricity while attempting to steal a transformer’s armoured cable.

Upeghom who hails from the Ogbema community in Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers state, had attempted to steal an armoured cable attached to a transformer in Emabu community, located within Emughan Local Government Area, where he was electrocuted.

The incident which happened around 12am on Friday, attracted residents of the community as luck ran out of the suspect when power was brought suddenly while trying to vandalise the cable.

This resulted to an explosion as the suspect was discovered and rushed to a hospital.

Investigations by security operatives have commenced to ascertain the level of the whole incident.
