Man Who Exposed Corruption Deals in NDDC Emerges Activist of The Year

Amb Arerebo Yerinmene, the National Coordinator of the Ijaw Interest Advocates has been honored with the Activist of the Year accolade at the Proudly Ijaw National Merit Awards 2021.

Yerinmene and his group also known as Izanzan Intellectual Camp, have remained at the forefront of unearthing the grave corruption in the Niger Delta Development Commission, particular emphasis on Senator Godswill Akpabio.

The IIA was one of the first groups to bring a purported water hyacinth contract awarded by Akpabio running to billions of Naira.

The group also staged protests and has continued to speak against the delay in the constitution of a substantive board for the NDDC.

Receiving the award at the Bayelsa State Government House Banquet Hall in Yenagoa over the weekend, Arerebo said;

Indeed I am again overwhelmingly encouraged and strengthened for being a recipient of Ijaw Fearless Youth Activist Man of the Year 2021.

“I want to ultimately thank the Almighty God for again another step further which I will always term as “Godly Grace and Recognition” as I appreciate the organisers of the programme; Proudly Ijaw National Merit Award 2021 board of governing council led by Mr. Tamsokunbiri Mmd for the recognition.

“I again dedicate this Award to my lovely Sociapolitical role model and father, Late Rt. Hon. GoodGod Arerebo Salaco SNR and to my kindhearted principal and father for the modeling.

“At this premise, am reassuring and reaffirming my resolved to the Ijaw Nation that for no instant I will Compromise my conscience in detriment of our collective interest and all round sustainability but I will always uphold to the collective interest of the Ijaw Nation and my actions inactions always be for the interest of the Ijaw Nation.”
