Man Who Just Returned From Dubai Beaten to Death by Police, Vigilantes in Delta

A man who recently returned from Dubai, United Arab Emirates has been beaten to death by some policemen.

The victim identified as Tammy Okubama was reportedly beaten to death by operatives attached to a Rain Oil Filling Station in collaboration with vigilantes in Ugbomro, Effurun Delta State.

Narrating the incident to our correspondent, a younger brother to the deceased, Nathaniel Okubama explained that Tammy was killed and his body secretly deposited at a morgue.

“We are yet to get to the bottom of the case but he was supposedly killed by vigilantes and policemen who are yet to be identified,” he said.

Nathaniel explained that the family was notified of Tammy’s death by a staff at the morgue his body was deposited.

“it was a staff at the Warri Central Hospital that called to inform us that his body was brought to the mortuary some mobile policemen,” he narrated.

While reason for the attack on the deceased is yet to be ascertained, the family suggests “it must have been a case of mistaken identity.”

The deceased had two wives, four children and aged mother and other dependence before his murder.

Attempts to contact the Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command DSP Bright Edafe proved abortive as calls to his line were left unanswered as of press time.
