Manchester United could secure a spot in next season’s Champions League even if they finish in sixth place, according to talkSPORT. This possibility arises from a UEFA rule change.

If West Ham were to win the Europa League and claim the fifth position, Manchester United would qualify for the Champions League even if they come in sixth.

Currently, the Red Devils are trailing by 11 points behind both fourth-placed Tottenham and fifth-placed Aston Villa. Their recent form, failing to win any of their last three league games, has made a top-four finish seem increasingly unlikely with only seven games left to play.

However, despite the challenges, there remains a slim chance for Erik ten Hag’s team to secure a spot in the Champions League.

England is expected to receive an additional spot in the upcoming Champions League, and due to the competition’s expansion, two leagues will earn an extra place in Europe’s top club competition.
