Manchester United are poised to sign former Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso to strengthen Erik ten Hag’s squad during this summer’s transfer window. Alonso is currently a free agent, having left Barcelona after his contract expired.
According to The Mirror, Manchester United aims to bolster their left-back options and have included the 33-year-old on a shortlist of three candidates. Alongside Marcos Alonso, the club is also considering Feyenoord’s David Hancko and Crystal Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell.
Hancko has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, but negotiations have reportedly stalled, and AC Milan has also shown interest. Meanwhile, Mitchell might be available at a reduced price, as he has entered the final 12 months of his contract with Crystal Palace.
