There was pandemonium in Owo, the hometown of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu following an explosion in the premises of St Francis Catholic Church, in the town.

The incident which occured on Sunday left an unconfirmed number of worshippers dead.

The explosion occured inside the church premises located at Owa-luwa Street, in Owo town, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, while mass was still ongoing.
