There is heavy tension as the communal war between Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja communities resumed on Thursday.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that there was a heavy gun duel between both communities which lasted several hours on Thursday.
While there is no certainty of casualties as of press time, many persons have been left injured as a result of the shoot out.
A source who pleaded anonymity noted that the resumed rivalry reached a new height on Thursday.

The source further alleged that military personnel were involved in heightening the tension that particularly befell Ogbe-Ijoh.

“Today’s battle reached new heights as both communities engaged in a severe gun duel,” the source told our correspondent.
“It is however, sad that the military saddled with the responsibility of quelling this crisis came into attack Ogbe-Ijoh community through land and water routes.”
The source further pleaded with the “Delta State Government to find a lasting solution to the lingering crises that has claimed an innumerable lives.”
The crisis between both communities which is hinged on land ownership has been on for three decades even as the Delta State Government’s effort to instill peace has yielded no lasting solution.
