Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi has chosen to stay with his current club rather than move to Liverpool this summer.

Liverpool had set their sights on Martin Zubimendi and were prepared to activate his €60 million release clause, but the Spaniard has decided to remain at Anoeta Stadium for another season, according to Relevo.

Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot, had prioritized signing a new No. 6 during the summer transfer window, with Zubimendi as a key target. However, the club grew frustrated with his hesitation and had set an August 14 deadline for his decision.
