Dr. Edu’s big mandate ahead of the general election is to lead from the front and rally women to become more involved in party politics.

In response to her election victory, she thanked delegates from all states, Cross River party leaders, and especially Governor Ben Ayade for their support and confidence.

She promised to bring the women together and keep them united as they progressed to the next level.

Edu was born on October 27, 1986. She is from Ibalebo village in Cross River State’s Abi local government area.

Betta received her secondary education at the Federal Government Girls College in Calabar and graduated from the University of Calabar with a degree in medicine and surgery.

She is a Harvard-trained physician and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health in the United Kingdom. She was previously the Cross River State Commissioner for Health and the National Chairman of the Nigeria Health Commissioners Forum.
