Messi Misses Out as Mbappe Wins Best Player at Globe Soccer Awards

Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe has been crowned Best Men’s Player of the Year.

The former Monaco star received the award at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai.

The 23-year-old grabbed the honor ahead of the 7x Ballon d’ Or winner, Lionel Messi who is a fellow member of his club.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United forward also received a prize for breaking the men’s international goalscoring record with Portugal.

The France international has netted 36 times in addition to numerous assists for The Red-and-Blues in 2021.

Notwithstanding, Mbappe was not able to find the back of the net for France as they faced elimination in the Round of 16 at Euro 2020.

Mbappe failed to convert the spot kick in Monday’s 5-4 shootout defeat to Switzerland in June.
