Lionel Messi, the renowned Argentine football icon, has taken his long-standing rival, Cristiano Ronaldo’s place in Guinness World Records (GWR).

In a recent update, Messi now holds the most GWR titles achieved by a footballer, with a total of 41 records.

The feat puts him one record ahead of Ronaldo, who currently has 40 records.

The official chart shared by the world record book via their Twitter account confirmed Messi’s latest dominance.

GWR said:

For now, Messi is clear of Ronaldo

“Lionel Messi has 41 @GWR titles whereas Cristiano Ronaldo has 40.”
