  • Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has launched a nationwide campaign to disarm the country’s streets.

  • The “Yes to Disarmament, Yes to Peace” program will provide compensation ranging from $430 for a revolver to $1,300 for a machine gun.

  • The initiative is targeted to reduce violent crime linked to the illicit drug trade.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has officially launched a nationwide campaign to disarm the country’s streets, offering cash incentives for citizens to surrender their firearms.

The “Yes to Disarmament, Yes to Peace” program aims to reduce violent crime linked to the illicit drug trade.
