Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta welcomed Jurrien Timber back to first-team training on Wednesday, marking a significant boost for the team as they prepare for their Premier League opener against Wolves.
Timber, the Dutch defender who joined Arsenal last summer, had an unfortunate start to his career with the Gunners. He missed nearly the entire 2023-24 season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury on the opening day. However, the 23-year-old made his return against Everton on the final day of the season and was included in Arteta’s squad for their preseason tour in the U.S.
Despite this progress, Timber had to sit out the final two preseason friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and Lyon due to a foot injury. Now, he has been spotted back in training with his teammates, ready to contribute as Arsenal kicks off their campaign at the Emirates on Saturday.
