Niger Delta leader, Asari Dokubo has accused the Nigerian military of being responsible for oil theft in the country.

Dokubo made the accusation after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the presidential office on Friday, stressing that
99 per cent of oil theft was executed by the Nigerian military.

Tinubu, during the meeting, promised to investigate the allegations of oil bunkering headed by influential naval commanders who acted as key players in the illicit trade.

The President also vowed to take decisive measures to end oil theft.

Dokubo emphasised the existence of influential factions operating from the capital city, Abuja, and proclaimed that these powerful entities have now met their match.

The Niger Delta leader asserted that many of the individuals involved would soon land in Kuje correctional centre.

He expressed his willingness to utilize his group of loyal supporters, known as “his boys,” to put a stop to the pending illegal business.
