In an interview with Arise News, Adetshina defended her victory, emphasizing the hard work she put in to secure the title.

Although my experience might have differed slightly from others, I believe I went through the same rigorous process as the other contestants.”

Chidimma Adetshina had to withdraw from the South African pageant in August 2024 due to allegations of fraud and identity theft involving her mother.

Facing xenophobic backlash and rejection, she accepted an invitation to compete in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, where she ultimately emerged as the winner.
