Lamlioui scored twice, finished as the tournament’s top scorer with six goals and clinched a record third CHAN title for Morocco.
The match shocked early. First-time finalists Madagascar took the lead in the ninth minute when Félicité Manohatsoa fired a long-range strike that beat the goalkeeper.
The crowd fell silent, but Morocco quickly regrouped.
Youssef Mehri slipped past the Malagasy defence and levelled in the 27th minute.
Then Lamlioui drove home a composed finish shortly before half-time to put the Atlas Lions ahead and restore belief.
Madagascar refused to fold. Midway through the second half, substitute Toky Rakotondraibe – the semi-final hero bundled in an equaliser and set up a tense finish.
With ten minutes left, Lamlioui struck again to secure the win and the Golden Boot.
With that goal, Morocco beat Madagascar and matched their CHAN wins from 2018 and 2020.
Beyond the final, Morocco’s youth teams also impressed this year: they won the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations and reached the Under-20 final, showing strong depth across the national setup.
Now Morocco will host the senior Africa Cup of Nations from December 21, 2025.
The CHAN victory gives the team momentum as the country prepares stadia and fans for AFCON.
