Tragedy struck in Dankama Local Government Area of Katsina State on Tuesday when a mother and her five children lost their lives after their house collapsed during a heavy downpour.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. while the family was asleep, resulting in the deaths of six members of the same household.

Confirming the heartbreaking development to journalists in Katsina, the head of the family, Muhammad Sani, said he was not at home when the building gave way.
“This affected about 10 people, but sadly, six didn’t survive. Three are currently receiving treatment in the hospital,” he said.
The deceased have been identified as Mariya Sani, 45; Mujahid, 20; Zahariya, 18; Hauwa, 15; Amira; and five-year-old Nura Sani.
Expressing his grief, Sani said:
“The loss is painful, but I surrender to Allah’s will. May He grant them eternal rest.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the incident has plunged the entire community into mourning. Neighbours and relatives have continued to troop to the family’s residence to sympathize and offer support.
