A young motorcyclist, identified simply as Osinachi, has been shot dead by a group of armed men riding on a motorcycle in Uturu, located in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailants struck as the victim emerged from a corner of the road on his own motorcycle. He was shot at close range before the gunmen fled the scene at high speed.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, with no confirmation on whether it was a case of robbery or a targeted assassination. The direction from which the attackers came or where they escaped to is still unknown.
Confirming the incident, the Abia State Police Command said it has begun an investigation.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, the command noted:
“A report of the incident was made at the Uturu Divisional Headquarters, and officers were immediately mobilized to the crime scene, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO).”
“The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead. His body has been deposited at the morgue. Exhibits were recovered from the scene, and a patrol team has been robboting the area as discreet investigation is ongoing,” she added.
