  • A mother has been charged to court for the alleged murder of her infant.

  • The woman was said to have committed the act so as to solicit for money online.

  • The suspect was said to have given the baby unprescribed and unauthorized medicines.

A crime against humanity, as it is widely described has left many in awe, after a woman killed her infant.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the 34-year-old woman allegedly poisoned her one-year-old child in order to get money online through GoFundMe.

This happened in Queensland, Australia.

It was gathered that she gave unprescribed medicine to the baby, and proceeded to post the infant’s distress online, so as to ganer pity.

Confirming the incident, a Queensland detective inspector, Paul Dalton said the matter came into after the suspect was reported after treating a serious mental illness in an hospital in the capital.

She posted photos and videos of the toddler in pain and distress to get money and help online, Dalton added.

 

Following medical examinations, the baby was tested positive for unauthorized medicines.

She was charged with 11 counts of offense on Thursday, January 16.

There are no words to describe just how repulsive offences of this nature are,” Dalton said.

“There is no excuse for hurting a child, particularly one so young that is totally dependent on adults to care and love for them.” Dalton added
