During the interview, the singer explained that the forthcoming project represents a new stage in her life and career.
According to her, the album captures how she is evolving as a person while also experimenting more freely with sound and creativity.
“I’m literally becoming a woman, and you can hear that in my music now. I’m growing sonically and trying different things,” she said.
The singer noted that at some point she began taking her work too seriously and temporarily lost the playful energy that initially shaped her music.
However, she explained that she rediscovered that joy during the creation of the new album.
“Now I brought the fun back and we’re enjoying ourselves,” she added.
Ayra Starr said the recording process allowed her to explore new musical styles while pushing herself creatively without being afraid of failure.
She explained that the goal of the album was not only to show maturity but also to celebrate the freedom of making music and enjoying the creative process.
Although the singer has not yet confirmed the official title of the upcoming project, she has already released a lead single titled “Where Do We Go.”
The song is expected to appear on the album, which is scheduled for release later this year.
The new record will mark her third studio album, following the success of her previous projects that helped establish her as one of the leading voices in modern Afrobeats.
