Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.) addressed NDLEA operatives at the agency’s National Headquarters in Abuja following his reappointment on Friday, November 14, 2025. Staff members celebrated his return with singing and dancing, reflecting high morale within the agency.

Marwa said he was surprised by the reception: “First of all, what a surprise, I did not expect to come back from Jumat service to meet these great felicitations, dancing, and singing by our personnel. Thank you very much.”

He emphasized that his second tenure will be uncompromising: “This second tenure is going to be hell and bleak for them. Drugs shall not pass, in or out or within Nigeria.”

Marwa also thanked top government officials, including the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, and the Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun, for their steadfast support. He praised international partners for collaborating with NDLEA in curbing drug abuse and trafficking.

Concluding his address, Marwa issued a direct warning to traffickers: “Drop the criminal trade now.” He reaffirmed NDLEA’s commitment to dismantling illicit drug networks and ensuring Nigeria remains free from the menace of narcotics.
