Students under the aegis of the National Association of Delta Ijaw Students (NADIS), have bemoaned the poor state of the Delta State School of Marine Technology, Burutu.
The student attributed the abandoned state of the school to the ineffectiveness of leaders from Ijaw extraction.
President of NADIS, Comrade Festus Ayigo expressed displeasure that the only tertiary institution cited in the entire Ijaw area in the state has been left unattended to after 15 years.

Ayigo, stated this when NADIS paid a the visit to the school for a tour of facilities in the, as well as establishing a partnership between NADIS and the institution, on Thursday.
The students called on politicians, especially those seeking a return to their various offices to pay attention to the plight of the school and the students or face being be voted out.
Ayigo lamented the unavailability of engineering laboratories, ICT centre and permanent structures during the tour.
He stressed that a conducive and comfortable environment is an integral element of learning and same is expedient in DESOMATECH.
The students however, applauded the Engr. Famous Akpoyibo-led Management of the institution for its efforts towards the sustenance and growth of the institution.
The body charged the management to prioritize the welfare and safety of the students of the institution, while calling for the cementing of a relationship between both parties.
It also charged the Delta State Government to hasten procedures towards erecting structures at the permanent site.
