NAFDAC has seized over 100 counterfeit bags of rice in Port Harcourt.

This was done during a raid in various shops in the state, aiming at shutting down production and distribution venues.
Operatives of the National Agency For Food, Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC have clapped back at counterfeiters in Rivers state.
This new raid comes after a collaboration between the agency and Big Bull rice production company.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that following the raid in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, a total of 120 fake bags were confiscated from various stores.

Confirming the operation, the PRO of the body for the South-South zone, Cyril Monye said the agency raided shops in Woji, Mile 3, and Mile 1 markets in Port Harcourt, where fake Big Bull rice was being sold.
NAFDAC also invaded a shop suspected to be the HQ where the fake rice was being supplied at YKC axis of Woji, Port Harcourt.
Different brands of rice were found there, including Big Bull rice, Cap Rice, Stallion Rice, Tomato Rice, and Mama Pride.
A salesgirl, who identified herself as Ogechi Okafor, was also arrested at the shop.
Items recovered includes sewing machine, sealing machine, a generator set, a stove, thread, and bags of already rebagged rice.
