NAFDAC Uncovers Illegal Alcohol Factory, Seizes Goods Worth N200 Million In Lagos | Daily Report Nigeria

Operatives of the National Agency For Food and Drug Administration Control, NAFDAC have uncovered an illegal alcohol production company in Lagos state.

According to reports, the illegal company was uncovered in Oke-Arin market in the Lagos Island area of Lagos state, where NAFDAC officials figured that a lot of shops had been converted into factories where different brands of alcoholic drinks were being produced, packaged, and distributed in the open market.

A statement released by the agency says;

‘’During the raid, over 2,000 cartons of empty bottles and already packaged drinks were seized, along with a mini plastic mixing tank, an improvised filter, and various packaging materials. Three suspects, identified as Mr Ikenna Daniel Ndeka, Mr Innocent Chike, and Mr Chukwu John, were arrested in connection with the illegal operation.” the statement read

It added that a gross estimate of the goods that was seized was totaled to be #200 million.

An investigation is ongoing and the suspects will face prosecution upon its conclusion.
