Italian Serie A champions Napoli are closely monitoring Polish attacker Sebastian Szymanski as they prepare for the possible departure of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen, who joined Napoli in 2020, has rapidly established himself as one of the premier strikers globally. With 26 goals last season, he clinched the Capocannoniere title, becoming the first African to do so. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in securing Napoli’s first Scudetto in 33 years.
Amidst transfer rumors linking Osimhen to top European clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and PSG, Napoli has managed to retain him. However, speculation suggests Osimhen may depart Naples in the summer, with the Premier League touted as a possible destination.
Anticipating Osimhen’s potential exit, Napoli has initiated the search for a replacement. Reports from Tutto Napoli indicate that the club views Fenerbahce striker Szymanski as a suitable successor.
Szymanski has showcased his talents at the Turkish club this season, amassing nine goals and eight assists in 27 appearances. Unlike Osimhen, Szymanski offers versatility, capable of playing on the wings or in an advanced playmaking role.
