Francesco Calzona, the interim coach for Napoli, has shared encouraging news regarding Victor Osimhen’s status ahead of their upcoming UEFA Champions League encounter against Barcelona.
Osimhen was notably absent from Napoli’s squad during last Saturday’s Serie A fixture against Genoa. This decision stemmed from concerns about his fitness, considering he had recently returned from the Africa Cup of Nations with a minor muscular issue and overall fatigue.

However, Calzona, who stepped in following Walter Mazzarri’s departure, disclosed that Osimhen participated fully in training on Tuesday, indicating positive progress in his recovery.
“Osimhen trained with the team, naturally it was not a long session, as we had many things to do, but he was working at full tempo,” Calzona told the media ahead of the game.
“All the players will be evaluated after tomorrow’s session.”
