Navy Seizes ‘Over 150’ Bags Of Foreign Rice in Lagos

Navy Seizes ‘Over 150’ Bags Of Foreign Rice in Lagos | Daily Report Nigeria

In the early hours of 25 November 2023, the Nigerian Navy seized a large wooden boat laden with over 150 bags of foreign parboiled rice around Lagos Anchorage.

The seizure was confirmed by Sub-Lieutenant H A Collins, the Base Information Officer of the Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft.

Commodore Kolawole Olumide Oguntuga, the Commander Nigerian Navy ship BEECROFT and Maritime Component Commander of Operation AWATSE further told journalists about the interception.

Oguntuga disclosed the successful interception was made possible through the utilization of The Maritime Domain Awareness Facility, the Falcon eye Alignment, and the Base Quick Response Team under ongoing Operation WATER GUARD.

He said:
“…successfully intercepted a large wooden boat laden with over 150 bags of foreign parboiled rice around Lagos Anchorage in the early hours of 25 November 2023.”
