  • NBS has reported that Taraba, Lagos, and Benue have the highest prices for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Nigeria.

  • The average price of 5kg of LPG increased by 44.62% to N7,000 in December 2024, up from N4,962.87 in December 2023.

  • The NBS data also showed that Delta recorded the lowest price for 5kg of LPG at N6,455.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has released its latest report on the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Nigeria.

According to the report, Taraba, Lagos, and Benue have the highest prices for LPG in the country.

The average price of 5kg of LPG increased by 44.62% to N7,000 in December 2024, up from N4,962.87 in December 2023.

In a state-by-state analysis, the NBS reported that Taraba recorded the highest average price for refilling a 5kg cylinder of LPG at N8,074.41, followed by Lagos at N7,910.71 and Benue at N7,900.

On the other hand, Delta recorded the lowest price for 5kg of LPG at N6,455, followed by Ondo and Zamfara at N6,683.33 and N6,778.57, respectively.

The NBS data also showed that Taraba recorded the highest average price for refilling a 12.5kg cylinder of LPG at N20,290.75, followed by Yobe at N19,000.00 and Rivers at N18,710.94.

Also, the lowest average price was recorded in Kebbi at N15,733.33, followed by Nasarawa and Kwara at N15,875.00 and N16,109.38, respectively.

NBS Reports 87.1% Increase In Petrol Price In November 2024

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has reported a significant increase in the average retail prices of petrol and diesel in November 2024.

According to the NBS Petrol Price Watch for November 2024, the average retail price of petrol increased by 87.10% from N648.93 in November 2023 to N1,214.17 in November 2024.
