Erstwhile Niger Delta freedom fighter, Comrade Bobo Tonye, has commended Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, MD/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), for his unique leadership style since assuming office.
He described Ogbuku as an exemplary leader who takes the opinions of others, especially staff of the commission, seriously.
Tonye, a leader of Third Phase ex-agitators under the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), made this known in a chat with our reporter in Yenagoa on Wednesday.
He stressed that he has been getting positive responses from residents in various communities in the region about the performance of Ogbuku.

“Today, many moribund projects have been revisited, and work is commencing rapidly. This is in addition to the new development projects he has been initiating.
“The emergency installation of street lights in the nooks and crannies of the region has illuminated and restored nightlife in the region.
“Very importantly, it has reduced the crime rate as well. Criminals now find it hard to perpetrate dastardly acts because everywhere is beaming at night.
“This is the kind of leadership we have wanted over the years, and it’s a good thing that Ogbuku is championing it to the delight of all and sundry,” Bobo said.
The ex-agitator enjoined the NDDC boss to continue his developmental drive while upholding integrity in the quest to transform the commission.
Bobo also urged Ogbuku to prioritize the interest of the region and “remain the humble, accommodating leader that you are.”
