NDDC: Ignore Protests Against Chiedu Ebie, Gbaboyor Urges Tinubu | Daily Report Nigeria

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, Comrade Gbaboyor Wurus has called on President Bola Tinubu to ignore protests against the appointment of Chiedu Ebie as Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that some youths who claimed to be members of the APC in the Niger Delta protested against Ebie’s appointment in Ughelli, on Monday.

The protesters called on the Presidency to ‘say no to cronyism’ while demanding that appointments must be made based on merit.

Reacting to the protest, Gbaboyor watered-down the action as a sponsored attack on the NDDC Chairman-designate.

In a telephone conversation with our correspondent, the APC chieftain stressed that Ebie is more than qualified to lead the intervention agency.

He said, ‘The appointment is zoned to Delta State and any qualified person can be appointed.

“Barrister Chiedu Ibie is over qualified and will do better in that office.

“I want to simply call on President Bola Tinubu to ignore the sponsored protest such as this against Ebie.
