“Yes, I can confirm that he was abducted along the Airport Road. When we got the information, we deployed our technical intelligence to make sure that his whereabouts is known and for him to reunite with his family.”

His release was announced by Olorogun Kenneth, former Ijaw Youth Council Chairman, Central Zone.

However, whether ransom was paid to secure the release of the President of Council was not disclosed.

Following his release, the IYC President is now set to lead the Mother of all Protest in the Central Zone, against the federal government’s failure to meet up to the 30 days ultimatum issued by the body on April 25, 2021.

The protest took off on Wednesday in the Western and Central Zones, with Ijaw youths closing down the East West Road in Bayelsa, as well as the NDDC office in Warri.
