NDDC Probe: Mention NASS Members Who Took Contracts From NDDC, Reps Tell Akpabio

The Nigerian Federal House of Representatives has given the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, 48 hours to publish the names of members of the 9th National Assembly are beneficiaries of the alleged sixty percent of contracts from the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

Speaker of the House, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila upon listening to a matter of privileges brought forward by House Minority leader, Ndudi Elumelu, spell out the names of National Assembly especially those of the 9th Assembly who benefited from the alleged 60 percent of contracts from the NDDC.

Gbajabiamila further demanded that the names all their companies and the contracts they were awarded should be published as failure to do so would result in him facing the wrath of the House.

Speaker Gbajabiamila had stated that his initial reaction over the allegation was only have a good laugh, but he realised that the integrity of the House was at stake.

The Speaker emphasized that Akpabio owes himself,the House Committee on Niger Delta, the people of Niger Delta and all Nigerians the responsibility to publish the names of national Assembly members who got contracts from the NDDC.

Senator Godswill Akpabio and the Interim Management Committee of the NDDC are currently undergoing investigations in the hands of the House Committee on the Committee over fraud allegations.
