Ndigbo Satisfied With Ikpeazu, Ugwuanyi – Ohanaeze | Daily Report Nigeria

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo have expressed their satisfaction with the leadership qualities of Governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Okezie Ikpeazu of Enugu and Abia States, respectively.

In a statement by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Ohanaeze Secretary-General, the group expressed displeasure with some of the South-East Governors, whom it said were not ready to show leadership in line with the established Igbo virtues and enthusiasm as was exemplified by Igbo legendary icons like Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, Dr. Micheal Okpara, Chief Sam Mbakwe, and Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

According to Isiguzoro: “we are disturbed with the wrong signals some Igbo governors are sending out.

“They have become backscratchers and bootlickers in desperate attempts to be the toasts of the caliphate and represent the ills of Abuja cartels against Ndigbo. The result is that non-state actors had taken over leadership by proxy.

“However, in the midst of all these, Governors Ikpeazu and Ugwuanyi remain the two saving grace of Ndigbo.

“Governor Ikpeazu is committed to providing an enabling environment and facilities for wealth creation and youth participation in governance.

“The establishment of shoe clusters and industry, garments and fabrics industry, resuscitation of Aba indomitable spirit through his SME programs and grants, the opening of overseas training campsite in Asia for Aba artisans and establishment of Enyimba Economic City, are economic blueprints for the good of the South-East.

“These Ikpeazu Government’s policies have developed self-sustaining livelihoods for Igbo Youths and reduced crime.”

He described Governor Ugwuanyi as an “uncommon and extraordinary personality that unites Enugu State among all divides. He has enthroned a peaceful place for businesses and individuals to thrive in Enugu State, irrespective of the frequent attempts to invade the state by killer herdsmen.

“He developed steps to fend off criminals and the introduction of youths into his administration, with responsibilities, has made Enugu the new breeding ground for grooming of prospective Igbo leaders in the Southeast.

“Those other Governors who play the scripts of the Abuja cartel will reap from the winds of calamity and the scourge of tragedy that comes with unfaithfulness and betrayal against the Igbo nation.

“Ndigbo are pleased to announce that Governors Ikpeazu and Ugwuanyi are the replicas of Dr. Micheal Okpara and Chief Sam Mbakwe.”
