The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in Kano State has arrested 23 suspects and seized a range of illicit substances, including codeine, pregabalin, and cannabis sativa, in a renewed crackdown on drug-related activities.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics, Sadiq Maigatari, who noted that the operation targeted key hotspots in the state known for drug abuse.
According to the statement, the affected areas include Badawa, Kofar Mata, Tashar Kasuwar Rimi, Gwangwazo, and Kantin Kwari, which the agency has identified as major drug joints.

“The operation resulted in the arrest of 23 suspects and the recovery of various illicit drugs, including codeine, pregabalin, and cannabis sativa,” the statement read.
“The NDLEA is pledging an intensified effort to dismantle drug joints and combat the rampant drug abuse that has plagued these neighborhoods.”
Reaffirming its mission, the agency stated, “The operation underscores the agency’s commitment to safeguarding the health and safety of the community by addressing the growing menace of drug-related activities, ensuring our streets are safe, and our youth are protected from substance abuse dangers.”
NDLEA also called on residents to support the campaign by staying alert and reporting suspicious behavior in their communities.
