Award Committee endorses results after meeting in Minna.
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of results for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
NECO’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr Azeez Sani, confirmed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.
He disclosed that 179,201 candidates registered for the examination in 12 subjects, which ran from May 12 to May 23, 2025.

“The results of the examination were released following the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting held at the Council’s Headquarters in Minna,” the statement read.
Chairperson of the Award Committee, Dr (Mrs) Folake Olatunji-David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, expressed satisfaction with the processes leading to the release of the results.
The meeting, held in Minna, was also attended by secondary school principals from across the country and NECO management officials.

The Award Committee approved July 23 and 24, 2025, as dates for the re-sit examination in Mathematics and English Studies.
Candidates who failed to meet the required grades in these core subjects are expected to take the re-sit to qualify for progression.
