Senator Ned Nwoko has called for Nigerians in diaspora to vote and be voted for during elections in the country.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the lawmaker representing Delta North in the Senate also called for the amendment of the Nigerian constitution to make room for the above.
In a tweet on Saturday, the billionaire businessman said he is āseeking an Amendment to the Constitution that will enable Nigerians in Diaspora to participate in Electoral Processes in Nigeria, to be able to vote and be voted for.ā
According to Nwoko, āthree permanent seats will be allocated to them in both chambers one each for America, Asia and Europe.

He added that the bill āseeks to introduce necessary amendments to the Nigerian Constitution, granting Nigerians in the Diaspora the right to vote; the ability to be voted for, and the establishment of dedicated representation in the legislative chambers.

The development is the latest in the numerous calls for the Independent National Electoral Commission to allow Nigerians in diaspora to vote during elections.
