NELFUND Disburses N2bn to 6 Institutions

NELFUND Disburses N2bn to 6 Institutions | Daily Report Nigeria

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced the disbursement of N2,026,163,340 to six institutions as institutional fees.

NELFUND released the list of beneficiary institutions on its official social media handle on Saturday.

The institutions that received the disbursement include the University of Ibadan, Bayero University, Kano, University of Ilorin, University of Benin, University of Maiduguri, and Federal University, Dutsinma, Katsina.

According to the NELFUND, Bayero University, Kano, received the highest disbursement of N853,775,000, followed by the University of Maiduguri, which received N589,001,500. The Federal University, Dutsinma, Katsina, received N304,961,800.

Other institutions that received disbursement included the University of Ibadan, which got N201,114,650, the University of Ilorin, which received N52,897,890, and the University of Benin, which got N24,412,500.

NELFUND stated that the disbursement was part of its strategic effort to ensure that students who need financial assistance can continue their education without the burden of financial constraints.

It explained that the disbursement will cover over 20,000 students and ensure that they can proceed with their academic activities without any hindrance.

The agency also stated that the disbursement will bring peace of mind to the students and their families, allowing them to focus on their academic pursuits without worrying about financial constraints.
