Controversial crossdresser, Bobrisky has asserted that he was not in prison over money laundering charges levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Bobrisky rather asserted that he paid N5 million to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to secure a pardon from the federal government.

According to him, Bobrisky the SAN initially demanded N10 million, but he was unable to raise the full amount due to his account being frozen by the EFCC.

He disclosed that consequently his godfather intervened, providing the N5 million upfront.

Boasting about his godfather’s influence, Bobrisky claimed he was not held in a prison cell but rather in a private apartment near the prison, allowing him to make quick visits to the facility as needed.

These revelations were made public in a video posted on Monday by social media activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, who claimed the call recording was made on 16 May 2024.

In the recording, Bobrisky said:

Truth be told, I won’t lie to you, you’re my person. I’m not in prison, but I’m around there. They got me an apartment because of my godfather. My godfather was able to say, ‘Never, you will not smell that prison. Let the world think that, but you will never.’ ”

He said:

I’m supposed to finish my sentence by July, but if we get the amnesty, I could leave by the first week of next month.

The SAN asked for N10 million, which I could have transferred, but my account is frozen.

My godfather gave me N5 million and we sent it to the SAN two weeks ago. He has already submitted the pardon request.”
