Controversial crossdresser, Bobrisky has asserted that he was not in prison over money laundering charges levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Bobrisky rather asserted that he paid N5 million to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to secure a pardon from the federal government.

According to him, Bobrisky the SAN initially demanded N10 million, but he was unable to raise the full amount due to his account being frozen by the EFCC.

Boasting about his godfather’s influence, Bobrisky claimed he was not held in a prison cell but rather in a private apartment near the prison, allowing him to make quick visits to the facility as needed.

These revelations were made public in a video posted on Monday by social media activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, who claimed the call recording was made on 16 May 2024.

In the recording, Bobrisky said:

“Truth be told, I won’t lie to you, you’re my person. I’m not in prison, but I’m around there. They got me an apartment because of my godfather. My godfather was able to say, ‘Never, you will not smell that prison. Let the world think that, but you will never.’ ”

He added that his godfather had spoken to the Deputy Controller in Nigeria, ensuring that as long as Bobrisky refrained from posting or saying anything, he could stay close to the prison to visit and welcome family members discreetly.

Bobrisky also recounted his godfather’s efforts to secure a pardon and expedite his release.

He said:

“I’m supposed to finish my sentence by July, but if we get the amnesty, I could leave by the first week of next month.

“The SAN asked for N10 million, which I could have transferred, but my account is frozen.

“My godfather gave me N5 million and we sent it to the SAN two weeks ago. He has already submitted the pardon request.”

Furthermore, Bobrisky disclosed that his godfather arranged the private apartment with the assistance of the Deputy Controller of the Nigerian Correctional Service, on the condition that he would not post anything on social media.

He said:

“They were worried about putting me in a male facility due to the risk of harassment, so they arranged for me to stay nearby, as long as I don’t post or say anything.”

This latest disclosure follows allegations by VeryDarkMan that Bobrisky paid N15 million to EFCC officials to drop the money laundering charges and secure a choice apartment from officials of the Nigeria Correctional Services (NCoS).
