On Wednesday, Prince Kanu Meme, one of Nnamdi Kanu’s siblings and the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, said there is “new evidence” in the agitator’s trial.
According to Meme, Kanu is still technically in Kenya based on new evidence.
He did not, however, elaborate on “new evidence” related to Kanu’s re-arrest and repatriation from Kenya.

The IPOB leader is believed to have been detained in Kenya in June of last year.
Kanu was detained in Kenya for eight days before being repatriated to Nigeria to continue his trial before the Federal High Court led by Justice Binta Nyako.
Kanu was charged with terrorism-related offenses upon his return.
The Federal Government slapped Kanu with a 15-count terrorism charge.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and requested that the Federal High Court in Abuja discharge and acquit him without a trial because the charges were unworthy of defending.
Meme, on the other hand, wrote on Facebook: “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is still technically in Kenya based on new evidence.”
