The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has denied reports that Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has been banned from playing for the Super Eagles.

Rumors of Osimhen’s ban surfaced online on Wednesday, but NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi clarified that no such decision has been made.

“The NFF urges the media to help resolve issues positively and focus on the bigger picture, rather than escalating matters unnecessarily. There was no official communication from the NFF about a ban on Victor Osimhen, yet some individuals have spread this false information. This is not helpful,” Sanusi said on the NFF’s website.

“Our priority is to resolve any issues concerning the Super Eagles and to confidently prepare for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers and the remaining six matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification series. This is not the time to spread falsehoods and create unnecessary tension.”
