Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau remains optimistic that the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite a poor start to their World Cup qualifying campaign, where they have only managed three points from four games, Gusau is confident in their chances. Currently, the three-time African champions are in fifth place in Group C, trailing joint leaders Benin Republic and South Africa by four points.
To qualify, the Super Eagles must win all six of their remaining matches. Gusau assured fans that, despite their current position, they are determined to secure a spot in the World Cup.

“This is a very sad moment for Nigerian football, and we cannot ignore that. However, I can assure you that we are working tirelessly with the Sports Minister to implement measures that will revitalize the entire system,” Gusau told reporters.
“It’s still possible to qualify for the World Cup, and we’re going to make it happen.”
