The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to unveil Finidi George as the new head coach of the Super Eagles, the senior men’s national team, on Monday in Abuja.
According to Ademola Olajire, NFF’s director of communications, the unveiling ceremony will be attended by top officials, including the minister of sports development, John Enoh, and NFF president, Ibrahim Gusau.
Finidi George, a former Nigerian international with 62 caps, has an impressive coaching record, having led Enyimba FC to the Nigeria elite division title in his second season.

George recently stepped down as Enyimba FC coach, leaving the team in third place on the NPFL log.

He has also gained valuable experience as an assistant coach to José Peseiro, helping the Super Eagles qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and coming close to winning the title.
His immediate task will be to secure maximum points in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin Republic.
