The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Ebonyi State University’s ASUU chapter, has described the ruling of the National Industrial Court as a declaration of war on the union by the Federal Government.
This was posited by the Chairman of the the chapter, Ikechukwu Igwenyi, on Thursday, while reacting to the ruling ordering the union to call of its 7 month strike.
Igwenyi said the “no work, no pay” policy of the government revealed the authorities lacked understanding of the nature of the contract between them and lecturers.

Speaking in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, Igwenyi said;
“The NIC ordered ASUU to call off the ongoing strike and return to the classroom with empty stomachs and unpaid bills pending the determination of the suit filed against the union by the Federal Government.
