Speaker’s Charge: Confirmed nominees urged to contribute to Niger State’s transformation agenda.
The Niger State House of Assembly has begun screening commissioner nominees sent by Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.
On the second day of proceedings, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, read the governor’s correspondence and oversaw the screening of 30 nominees, divided into three sessions.

So far, 20 nominees have been screened and confirmed, while the remaining 10 are yet to undergo assessment. The only exception among the confirmed nominees is Ahmed Agwara from Agwara constituency, whose screening was postponed due to a past legal action against the House.
The Speaker congratulated the confirmed nominees and urged them to justify the confidence placed in them by actively contributing to the state’s development agenda.

The confirmed nominees include Hon. Mu’azu Hamidu Jantabo (Lapai), Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed (Bida), Kabiru Abbas (Mariga), Nasiru Muazu (Chanchaga), Lawal Mohammed (Kontagora), Abubakar Musa (Paikoro), Barr. Maurice Magaji (Munya), Bashir Mohammed (Lokogoma Wushishi), and Dr. Murtala Bagana (Bida).
Additional nominees confirmed were Mohammed Qasim (Agaie), Hadiza Idris (Kuta, Shiroro), Phalalu Bako (Kontagora), Abdullahi Adamu Mammagi (Gbako), Abdullahi Ibrahim (Inga, Rafi), Isah Sidi (Rijau), Jacob Baba Yisa (Edati), Ladidi Bawa Bosso (Bosso), Abdulrazaq Mu’azu (Jakada, Borgu), and Suleman Umar (Bida).
The screening process is ongoing as the House continues to ensure all nominees meet the requirements to serve effectively in their respective roles.
